Shiloh High School Industrial Technology Program's "School-Based-Enterprise" The Industrial Technology program has addressed one of the major problems facing programs today, funding. How to generate money needed to maintain a program that needs lots of equipment, tooling, and materials. If you have visited any of the other pages on this site you will see that we receive equipment, materials, and funding from outside sources, but most of the extra money (other than what is budgeted by the school) to maintain the Industrial Technology Program comes from the "School-Based-Enterprise." We run a business in our Industrial Production class. We have found a market in the Kitchen Cabinet Industry. We measure and design a set of kitchen cabinets for a customer. We then build and install them. This not only brings in extra money to the program, it also gives the student an excellent experience in the real life pressures of designing, manufacturing, delivering, and working with the public. The student enjoys selecting materials needed to build a kitchen cabinet, building the cabinets and then installing it in a customer's home.
