COMMUNICATIONS
The following were presented with Friend of Education plaques in recognition of their support of Shiloh School District students:
Paris Metal Products, Ron Langevin and Mike Pine: Donated tool boxes to school and save school thousands of dollars on lockers. Sent Mike Pine to help get us started building lockers.
Catholic Charities of Mattoon, Carol O’Neill: Came and gave away clothes/school supplies/book bags to our students before school started. This was used by 60 of our families.
Brocton Christian Church, Reverend Virgil and Angie Haynes: We are pleased to nominate the Brocton Christian Church “Friend of Education.” They have faithfully been giving monetary donations to our school district for some time and with the understanding that the money be used to help students who reside in the Brocton area. We have been able to purchase shoes and socks for these students, along with paying for other necessary items required for school. We appreciate the giving mindset of this church. There are many families who have, and continue to, benefit from your willingness to share.
Matt Davis thanked the board for approving the Career English trip to IOUE Local 841 Training Center in Universal, Indiana.
