Meeting was called to order at 8:00 PM by President Means.

Board approved Budget Hearing and Regular Meeting minutes of
September 10, 2007
PAYMENT OF BILLS
Board approved the payment of bills as presented.
COMMUNICATIONS
Josh McIntyre addressed the Board requesting their approval
of the FFA field trip request to attend the National FFA Convention
in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Sandy Minott addressed the Board on behalf of the Shiloh Education
Association requesting that the Board consider full time employment
for Terry Sullivan at Shiloh Schools for the next school year.
Lesliea Palmer, Sue Miller, and Deb Akers also requested the
Board consider this.
Freebairn joined the meeting at 8:07 PM.
First MidState – Dave Pistorius distributed information
about working cash bonds and discussed how the bonds work.
Kile joined the meeting at 8:44 PM.
FY07 Audit – Jim Motley discussed the Annual Financial
Report, Audit Report, and management letter.
Bushue Human Resources – Stuve Bushue reviewed the district
insurance bids received.
Board approved the insurance bid, without terrorism coverage,
from Dimond Bros. Insurance.
AMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

SES Citizens of the Month: Grade 3 - Whitney Milburn and Tazay
Redmon-Lewis, Grade 4 – Jacob Gordon and Dalton English,
Grade 5 – Baylie Painter and Darian Craddock, Grade 6
– Lauren Moses and Aaron Bell
Fall Workshop
was October 5. Big thank you to our staff. Received many positive
comments on the cleanliness of the building, the decorations,
and the workshops presented.
Newman Fire Department Presentation at Newman Grade School was
October 9. They conducted a fire drill which went very well.
Fall Concert was October 10. Great job by the 5-6, Jr. High,
and High School Bands and Chorus’.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be October 25 and 26 with evening
conferences being held on the 25th.
On-line curriculum discussion is coming up. Superintendent Lewis
will attend a meeting at EIASE on Friday. There are ~7500 students
in Region 11 who are interested.
There are 10-15 Practicum Students in our buildings right now
working under the direction of Helen Wood.
Kile congratulated President Means and the JFL students on a
good season.
Superintendent Lewis
Distributed a handout comparing ISAT scores, PSAE scores, salaries,
and finances of local districts.
Special Education Profile – we are higher than the state
average of students with IEP’s.
Received a letter from Don Frederick congratulating the school
for acquiring Tonya Eich as a new staff member.
Dave Miester has put together a curriculum for a co-op high
school. However, there is no talk at the State level for money
for co-op high schools.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND DISCUSSION
First Reading of the following School Board Policies occurred:
6:120 Instruction – Education of Children with Disabilities
8:100 Community Relations – Relations with other Organizations
and Agencies
IASB Proposed Resolutions: Hutchinson reviewed the basic premise
of each IASB proposed resolution.
Superintendent Lewis and Hutchinson attended the Illini Division
meeting. The next meeting will be at Mahomet in the spring.
Hutchinson discussed the break out session she attended regarding
the legal issues of email.
President Means asked that Principal Hettmansberger look into
the issue of JH boys’ basketball uniforms.
