Correspondence: End of the Year Employee Award Recipients including

Awards
E2T2 monitoring visit letter from Jamey Baiter, Principal Consultant,
thanking the staff at for their dedication to the project.
E2T2 grant letter stating that the Shiloh was not among the
proposals selected to receive funding.
Letter from Cherise Murphy, HRC Prevention Coordinator, which
stated her experience at Shiloh was the best she had had with
any school to date.
There were no requests to address the Board
Principal Hettmansberger: 4th quarter and 2nd
semester honor rolls were included in the Board packet.
He and Mr. Findley attended a workshop: 9 Steps to Interrogation,
which was geared toward schools.
He has also received training on the Novel Stars program, a
school credit recovery program.
Newman Grade School Parent Orientation will be August 12, 2008,
at 6:00 PM.
Superintendent’s Report: State Comptroller
has requested Shiloh host a Flood Relief Meeting on July 7,
2008. The meeting will be in the multi-purpose room at 6:00
PM.
Reservations are confirmed at the Fairmont Hotel for the School
Board Convention.
Congratulated the Shiloh Elementary teachers and students on
making AYP again this year.
Softball and track co-ops are up and the district needs to be
thinking where they want to go with these. Football co-op is
up next year.
August 18, 2008, is Teacher Institute and school will start
August 19, 2008.
Custodians have painted the Shiloh gymnasium and it looks very,
very good. They have repainted all the hallway walls and added
a blue stripe in the hallways also. They will be painting the
main hall at Newman Grade School this summer also.
Reviewed the budget to date compared to last year at this time.
Projects a $28,000 budget deficit if all State monies are received
by June 30, 2008.
Approved the Board of Education Meeting Schedule with all meetings
to begin at 7:00 PM.
Approved the purchase of a Camera Surveillance from Tort Funds.
Approved the purchase of a used one-year-old school bus at a
cost of $54,000 with trade-in.
Approved the 4th Year Contract Renewal with Aramark Education
Services.
First Reading of the following School Board Policies occurred:

Familiarity with Requirements for Using District Credit and/or

First Reading of the 2008-2009 Newman Grade School Handbook
changes occurred.
First Reading of 2008-2009 Shiloh Elementary Handbook changes
occurred.
Freebairn requested the Board pursue the suggestion from Hutchinson
that a committee determine criteria for establishing raises
before salary negotiations begin.
Approved the Superintendent’s extension of contract by
three (3) years.
The Release of Closed Session Minutes was tabled until the July
21, 2008, meeting.
Authorized the Superintendent to destroy the audio recordings
of Executive Session meetings of November 20, 2006, and prior.
The Shiloh CUSD #1 Board of Education meeting of June 23, 2008,
adjourned at 8:11 PM.
