	Special and Organizational Board Meetings - 1:00 pm - May 2, 2009 Special Meetings - 1:00 pm President Means called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM. Present: Freebairn, Hales, Hutchinson, Kile, Means, Young Absent: Brown Others Present: Superintendent Lewis, Gary Henry, Troy Eads, Terry Sullivan, Barb Board President Means welcomed everyone to the meeting. Board approved the following Consent Agenda items: Executive Session Minutes of April 20, 2009 Regular Meeting Minutes of April 20, 2009 Executive Session Minutes of April 20, 2009 Corrected 2009 Scholarship Recipients FFA trip to State Convention June 9-11, 2009, in Springfield, Illinois Superintendent Lewis commented that money is starting to come in from the State. State Aid money has to be tracked completed different this year. Regarding the grant submitted with Villa Grove we have made it through the first round and are half-way there. Have also submitted a grant for two new dishwashers. Our free and reduced levels put us in good standing for this grant. Means noted the all-weather tracks he has seen at other schools and asked of the possibility of one at Shiloh. Superintendent Lewis estimated a new all-weather track would cost $500,000 with upkeep of $45,000 every 5-7 years. Discussion of a cinder track vs crushed brick track. Means asked about the status of the Shiloh gym floor. Superintendent Lewis noted that the floor cannot be sanded again but as long as it is well maintained it still should last several more years. Discussion of wind generators being erected and the effect on schools. Board went into Executive Session at 1:15 PM. Board returned to Open Session at 1:25 PM Board approved employment of Meagan Golloway as a Second Grade Teacher. Board proclaimed winners of the April 7, 2009, General Election: Troy Eads 509 votes, Tony Kile 495 votes, and Samantha Hutchins 472 votes. Eads, Kile, Hutchinson were administered the Oath of Office. Board adjourned Sine Die at 1:28 PM. Organizational Meetings - 1:28 pm Superintendent Lewis served as President Pro Tem and appointed Barb Board as Secretary Pro Tem. Superintendent Lewis called the meeting to order at 1:28 PM. Present: Eads, Freebairn, Hales, Hutchinson, Kile, Means, Young Absent: None Others Present: Superintendent Lewis, Gary Henry, Troy Eads, Terry Sullivan, Barb Board President Pro Tem called for nominations for the office of Board President. Mike Means being the only candidate nominated for the office of President was declared elected by acclamation. President Means called for nominations for the office of Vice President. Samantha Hutchinson being the only candidate nominated for the office of Vice President was declared elected by acclamation. President Means called for nominations for the office of Secretary. Debby Young being the only candidate nominated for the office of Secretary was declared elected by acclamation. Board approved setting 2009-2010 Board Meeting dates and times as submitted. Board set the following Committee Assignments: Negotiations Young, Means, Eads Finance Freebairn, Hutchinson Personnel Hutchinson, Hales Building/Grounds Means, Eads Transportation Kile, Means Technology Eads, Young Policy Hales, Hutchinson Education Foundation Young, Hutchinson Extracurricular Means, Kile Discipline Hales, Eads EIASE Representative Hales Strategic Planning Freebairn, Means Young had been to the Greenhouse and said the plants looked very good. She commended Ms. Eich for doing such a good job. Means added that we have a lot of good people at Shiloh and that Mr. Roskovensky has done some good work in the library. Board went into Executive Session at 1:48 PM. Board returned to Open Session at 2:45PM. Board adjourned at 2:45 PM.
