Board Committee Reports - Building and Grounds Committee member Eads went through the Newman Grade School building recently commenting that if we have this asset we need to make sure it is safe. For both buildings they need to look at playground equipment. The school crossing at the stop sign is dangerous and he suggested they look at ways to stop traffic when the students are crossing to the building, possibly with posts connected by chain. The freezers and the milk cooler at Newman Grade school is an issue that should be addressed with Aramark. The water fountain by the kitchen is not working and salt is still being stored by the entryway.

Mrs. Palmer, Ms. Minott, and Mrs. Martin explained the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) program: how it is implemented, the success of the program, and the positive impact it has had on Shiloh Elementary student behavior. They recognized and noted that much of the success goes to the teachers for jumping on board and implementing the program.

Board entered into Executive Session at 7:38 and returned to Open Session at 8:37 PM.

Approved expulsion of student #2011 through end of the 2011-2012 school term on May 21, 2012. .
