CAMA Teens

 

 

CAMA, Inc's Vision:

To prevent and reduce the impact of substance abuse on Clark and Edgar counties, creating permanent change and healthier communities.

Activities

  • Mentoring program called Big Brothers and Sisters between the CAMA Teens and the third graders in the Shiloh school district. Teens will receive training to set up their own program. Members will make presentations to the third graders about drug and alcohol abuse, as well as help them with projects and homework throught the year. The Big Brothers and Sisters will have some meals with their third graders, give them presents on their special days and be someone to listen to their needs and problem areas they may have.
  • Training for 7th and 8th grade students, as well as high school students, once during the year with an outside speaker . CAMA Teens will be focusing on getting materials to students about the effects of drug and alcohol abuse at all ages, but especially geared toward younger students and high school students.
  • Serve as a Host School for all the area CAMA Teens once a year. There will be guest speakers at the event, as well as student discussions dealing with activities others are using for their drug and alcohol prevention programs.
  • Four Quarters Events will deal with Respect Yourself and Others, Fitness and Good Health "Be Strong."
